Terms and conditions relating to organisations using the self-service website as provided by the Child Maintenance Service.

Introduction

The self-service website allows employers to send information over the Internet (for example Deduction from Earnings schedules) and to view records online (for example changes to Deduction from Earnings Orders). In the future, additional services and features may be added.

Registration

You will be informed by the Child Maintenance Service when you have a Deduction from Earnings Order, which will include instructions on how you register for this service.

Your registration details, including your name and email address (optional), will be stored securely on the Child Maintenance self-service website in accordance with the Child Maintenance Service privacy policy.

Your email address, if provided, may be used by the Child Maintenance Service to communicate with your organisation.

Your registration details may also be stored on the self-service website's systems. You can view the Child Maintenance Service on this website.

You can login to your organisation's self-service account using your Employee Reference Number and PAYE number. Your Employee Reference Number can be found in any letters sent by the Child Maintenance Service.

Security

You must always keep your Employee Reference Number safe and secure.

If you forget your Employee Reference Number, you can ask for it to be re-issued either by post or telephone by contacting the Child Maintenance Service. Your Employee Reference Number can also be found in any letters sent by the Child Maintenance Service.

Message service

The self-service website includes a secure message service, which will be used to send you communications and replies to your questions.

You should regularly check your mailbox and read messages, as you may not be sent some communications via other methods. You can choose your preferred method for receiving communications via an option on the self-service website or by contacting the Child Maintenance Service.

Statutory notices, reminders and certificates

The self-service website's message service may be used to issue statutory notices (such as changes in values of Deduction from Earnings Orders) and reminders to you. You can view the notices and reminders securely by logging onto the self-service website. You may also print or save them to your own computer. Statutory notices made available in this way by the Child Maintenance Service will have the same legal validity and implications as a paper statutory notice sent to you by post.

If you would prefer to continue receiving all notices and reminders by paper, you can opt out of receiving these over the internet. You can do this on the self-service website by changing your preferred method of contact.

Uploading Deduction from Earnings Order schedules

When using the self-service website, you may upload Deduction from Earnings Order schedules. You must use either the self-service website or post them to the Child Maintenance Service. To upload you will need to log into your child maintenance online service.

Deduction from Earnings Order schedules uploaded via the self-service website over the internet and accepted by the Child Maintenance Service systems have the same legal validity and implications as paper schedules delivered to a Child Maintenance Service office.

Some functions of the self-service website may require information to be provided in a paper form. You will be told on screen when this is the case and where appropriate, directed to the appropriate downloadable form.

The Child Maintenance Service may revise these Terms of use as services are developed. The Child Maintenance Service may withdraw or add services and features or change the way in which you may access those services without prior notice - although the Child Maintenance Service shall try to give you notice of any changes
